How long has anyone's "Move" ADSL service taken?

Post by wurzel » Thu Jul 29, 2010 11:58 am

Hi

I've submitted a "Move" request (ie: a cancel/connect) to a new address, but am not sure of the actual connection date because of these notes from Exetel:

"Your new service will be ordered on the next working day after the date your new telephone line is connected.
Your new service normally will be available 7 days after we send the order to Telstra."

The form asks for a date to end the old service ("5th August") and a date to start the new service ("6th August").
Since the new telephone line is already connected, do Exetel submit the ADSL order to Telstra now? Or do they submit it on the 6th, meaning the actual date ADSL starts working is around the 13th?

Would just like to know from anyone else who has 'moved' theirs in the past how close the activation date was to the one they selected in the members tools.

Call provisioning and get exact details of your move.

Yes I needed to call provisioning anyway as there was a problem with the "Moved Service Status" - Play type had disappeared..
They sorted that out easily on the phone, so all's good.

The answer to the original question by the way if anyone else has the same query: When you select "Date to start new service", it's when the order gets submitted to Telstra, not the date the service will be available. So pick a start date of a week or so before you want to be online.
