Exetel forcing me to change plan?
Exetel forcing me to change plan?
I really don't want to change lol, the proposed 50GB Peak and 50GB Off-peak plan might be $5 cheaper than our current plan but it's likely ill suited for us and the next tier above it is a ridiculous 1TB plan ($22 dearer). Why Can't I stay on my 500GB anytime plan and just pay an extra $5 or $10 a month or something? :/
The 50/50GB plan also has slower speed throttling if we exceed the quota (128/64kbps instead of 1024/384kbps).
Edit: Not sure why I thought it was $22 dearer, it's actually only $17 dearer.
Edit 2: No, it IS $22 dearer. I need to remember that the phone line rental went up $5 in addition to the internet going up $17.

Re: Exetel forcing me to change plan?
Yes, I just received the same letter. Very disappointing. I can understand commercial realities, however a 50% increase is just a little rude, for no appreciable benefit. I regularly use between 150 and 250 GB, so increasing to 1TB is no use whatsoever.Franpa wrote:I really don't want to change lol, the proposed 50GB Peak and 50GB Off-peak plan might be $5 cheaper than our current plan but it's likely ill suited for us and the next tier above it is a ridiculous 1TB plan ($23 dearer). It seems to be the typical predatory umbrella pricing that John Linton so used to despise.
Re: Exetel forcing me to change plan?
I can't seem to find the cancel plan button that used to exist in the member's facilities. If it is gone how do we give our 30 days notice?

Out of interest, what would calling the Sales Team achieve? Surely the plans available are all on the website. Or are you suggesting that if one ring sales you might be offered a plan or discount that is not on the website or available through user facilities?

Re: Exetel forcing me to change plan?
I was contacted before you made that last forum post but not after you made that post. Basically I was told that nothing could be done. I can either go with with the 100GB plan for $5 less or the 1TB plan for $22 more, no alternative was offered other than to churn away.

Re: Exetel forcing me to change plan?
Just got a call from them, the best they can offer is 1 month of free internet service but other than that nothing can be done. With the 1 month free, the 1TB plan would work out to $52.25 per month and considering what other ISP's are offering, $52.25 + $25 phone rental actually doesn't seem that bad. It's just a huge, unexpected jump up in price that made me question sticking around.

Re: Exetel forcing me to change plan?
Fixed a bunch of prices mentioned in all my previous posts in this thread. I was being really, really bad at maths lol.
