this may have something to do with various issues I am having (totally non-wow related).

From about 12am to 3am (sometimes extending to 5am) I get dramatic download slows from around 600kb/s before midnight, right down to 20kb/s after midnight.

I can understand if you are experiencing these issues also, or a side effect of sorts, then this would definately impact your game performance.

I posted elsewhere in regards to this, but got no staff response, but you can clearly see in my graphs that smack bang on midnight my speed begins to plummet

Kept a log of the pings during gameplay tonight. No disconnects for a change, and the spikes weren't as bad or as high.
Ranged from a low of 380 (lasted around 40 minutes) to a high of 760.
The 40 minute low period was the only time the pings were below 500. Still woeful.

Same. Can't even exit through the game. I'll get the Network Engineers to look into it further

Yeah same probs here as everyone else, last few weeks been pretty bad, last 1/2 - 3/4 year after 12pm been very slow. last night logged in to huge pings walked away for 20min ping was sweet all night, login today oh so slow.

For me it seems that there is an ongoing issue between exetel and to hazard a guess part of the net in America used by blizzard, every 6 months or so wow users seem to have these same/similar issues, could it be possible for someone to post the list of fixes used in the past to solve the problem?

Well I'm using an aaNet connection this weekend, same PC/WoW install/addons, and I've got no login/lag/spiking problems whatsoever. That definitely indicates that the problem is something related to the Exetel network, as the internet connection is the only thing that has changed.

It defiantly has been an Exetel issue for a few years, i just hope one day its sorted out, because i am quite sure there are a lot more users who are just suffering in silence. seems lag has cleared up as of now, we shall see how long it lasts. if there has been a change made to the network please let us all know.

Horrendous lag at the moment. Still 180ms to the last pingable hop of the wow tracert.

Spikes of 10-30 seconds where no data is received.

Then everything catches up.

This is becoming business as usual which isn't really much fun.

I posted in another thread no answer BUT this is similar to your guys Wow problem
I play Guild Wars ( yeah shoot me :p )and the lag is BAD and makes that game unplayable :(
Worst has been last 24 to 48 hours and been game stopping.
really high pings then I stop moving for a bit then start running again ok
OR dead on the floor :(
Or just plain disconnected from the server.
So I don't think it's JUST Wow It has to be something between Exetel and overseas IMO

GW says nothing wrong there end but a few posts on whirlpool from Aussies say there having problems with Wow GW and overseas games
Normal net stuff for me is ok no problems surfing downloading stuff ect checked filter, cables all the usual stuff we are supposed to do.
I wonder what it is???
