Come On Exetel, Member Services Design!

Post by stormx » Fri Nov 30, 2007 4:50 pm

Exetel, you guys updated the design on every page but the user felicities, I have seen you do many modifications to the other pages, but you have still kept the member services that ugly design. When are you going to take the time to update the member services design? Is there going to be an ETA and can you guys notify the person in charge of that department?

Thank you.

I'd imagine that as long as it's functional, any cosmetic redesign is low on the list of priorities.

Hi Guys,

It is almost finished and should be up by next week.

Sorry for the delay. There has been other projects that needed to be focused on first.

I think the colour is too bright. And I had trouble for while locating the network graphs links until I realise they were in the same place (not enough contrast). But that's just me, I realise it's very subjective.

Hey guys,

Just note that the new members facilities will be going under major changes in the near future just like the main site when it first came out. so if you have any suggestions/comments, please let me know.

Thank you,
Shady D

Just a suggestion, when you are in a particular section, it should stay 'open' in the navigation instead of being closed again (if you know what I mean).

This has been very frustrating while moving around in the last few minutes, just thought I should let you guys know :)

members facility menu has some very serious usability issues with css on and off.

If your browsing the menu and try to go from the expanded/drop down section to the link underneath when you hover out the cursor ends up on a link you didnt intent to click on.

This is a major pain and i would be fixing that as quickly as possible

Well the design proposal i did a while back which was for the exetel redesign incorporated that same menu effect.

I personally would have used something which is a little more stable such as http://www.apple.com/itunes/ them ones or any other accordion effect.
Moo tools has a good one. The .net framework has some good Ajax accordion effects too.
The menu you are using is very jumpy you can loose your spot to easily plus there is alot of accordion effects out there that would work so much better. As long as you properly styled it.

The Exetel menu works well if you work from the bottom upwards but not from the top downwards.
Why not sideways pop out menus like http://www.imb.com.au for example?
