This is for ADSL2+ with a downstream line sync of 17004 Kbps.
Am I to understand that this is normal / as good as it gets?
I'll also post a new speed test tomorrow in on-peak time.

The issue may be known to Exetel but comments like "Speed seems fine to me" by Exetel Staff makes you think that they are not even looking into it.CoreyPlover wrote:I think everybody needs to realise just how futile it is posting speed test after speed test when clearly the issue is known to Exetel.
Exactly. Half my internet time is way too slow. The exetel staff on the forum are trying to be helpful by asking to isolate the line, run speed tests off the exetel speed test, check modem config, etc, but that doesn't help because the problem is obviously not in our home. I'd like the staff to tell us they know there is a problem and that something is going to be done to fix it. I'm one month into a 12 month contract as it is I woudn't recommend exetel to anybody if it isn't possible to watch youtube videos without waiting for them to download first.adrian75 wrote: This has been going on 12AM till now! So we are talking abt 12 hrs out of 24.
I'm not saying to "just accept the problem". I'm saying to not bombard this thread with redundant speed tests, that's all.Tox wrote:So please stop telling people to just accept the problem
Neither you nor I work for Exetel so we cannot comment on the fault resolution processes they have available to them. But one comment ForumAdmin made a while ago was that if it is a backhaul issue, then it is out of Exetel's control, and Exetel can neither diagnose it, nor demand a resolution:3lusiv3 wrote:As for the problem being out of exetels control, that is not true because exetel are paying their providers to provide a service so exetel should be telling them that there is a problem and to get it fixed quickly.
ForumAdmin wrote:However no carrier will ever say that they have contention and there is no way that Exetel can 'prove' that and therefore get a resolution time for it

Your particular issues sound a little more severe than most as they last the full 12 hours of off-peak. What speeds you get during peak times?3lusiv3 wrote:Exactly. Half my internet time is way too slow.
My current bandwidth test from the exetel test server is 6 Mbps. Pretty good. There's no problem with my connection, just really bad speeds usually at off peak times.CoreyPlover wrote:Your particular issues sound a little more severe than most as they last the full 12 hours of off-peak.
