New ADSL1 And ADSL2Plans

Post by ForumAdmin » Thu Apr 03, 2008 11:39 am

We are in the final stages of reviewing some changes to our current ADSL1 and ADSL2 plans for new users.

Any suggestions you might care to make will, as always, be welcomed.

Any indication of what these plans are? Benefits? Restrictions?
That way we can make better suggestions.

Take care of existing users

Post by microbe » Thu Apr 03, 2008 11:49 am

My suggestion is that you take care of those of us that are existing users.

it is very frustrating to receive emails with offers such as bundled VOIP, Mobile and ADSL being made available for new users, but those of us who have been supporting exetel by being customers can't take advantage of the same offers.

New ADSL1 And ADSL2Plans

Post by robytseng » Thu Apr 03, 2008 11:55 am

Maybe some ADSL2 plans that have lower peak data download limits at a cheaper price? My monthly rate has increase from $50 to $65 per month but I hardly even reach 2GB's of downloads so the increase of $15 for an extra 6GB is not good value for me.

Hi,

I have a lot of people I know that need something basic and cheap.
The plans they seem to want is something like this,

ADSL2
2 or 4 GB Peak download
Off Peak not so important
$25 or $30 (they don't mind it's bundled either.)

The idea behind this is that there are a lot of users that just want to check email and generally surf but not paying a lot for it.

If you could do something like this I can bring a lot of people to Exetel

:D
Very Happy

Halve the off peak quota and slightly increase the peak quota, for the same price.

eg. my 8/48GB plan becomes 10/24GB.

Put more pressure on your providers to improve their backhaul (particularly at Parramatta).

One topic that often arises is the ability to reduce off-peak allowances to lower prices, or the ability to use peak quota during off-peak. These may be contrary to the simplification process Exetel is adopting but they may be possibilities.

Another possibility is a "P2P" plan which charges different $/Gb rates or includes an allowance for P2P cache generated traffic.

Cheaper ADSL2 Plan

I second the cheaper ADSL 2 plan. Reduce the download limit and the price.

I have to agree with Steve here, I understand the need to attract new customers to the business, but it doesn't make sense not to pass on the benefits to the existing customers supporting the business.

It would be easier to make suggestions if you could supply some information about the proposed new plans.

lower usage plan

Post by Clint » Thu Apr 03, 2008 12:02 pm

I'm a loyal exetel customer and I'm on the lowest ADSL 2 plan for $45/mth bundled with the phone. It gives me 500Mb peak. I'd normally use somewhere between 500 and 1000Mb and pay the extra $3/mth which was no big deal.

New Plans
Like the other comments I'd like a low end plan with somewhere around 1Gb usage and $3/Gb for excess downloads. I make most of my downloads off peak and I won't use anywhere near the 8Gb peak download limit on the new plan.

VoIP is the hot product to help you sell plans. I suggest more prominently promoting its availability with your naked plan, and adding it to your standard ADSL and ADSL2 plans. Several people I know want both a landline phone and VoIP, and are unsure if you offer that in your plans.
