"Shaped Plan Option

Post by ForumAdmin » Thu Apr 24, 2008 1:45 pm

The ability to change your plan from being charged for excess usage to having your line speed reduced to 64 kbps has been included in the Exetel User Facilities here:

https://www.exetel.com.au/members/accou ... ink=link01

If you have any suggestions as to how the text/explanation can be improved please let us know.

The function won't be activated until 2/5/08.

I think the option is great

A very minor issue at the selection page - I could not check the shaping boxes. So after various attempts I clicked Change and then I was able to check the shaping boxes and then clicked Change a second time to make the change

Cheers

Hi Forum admin,
There appears to be a typo in the page https://www.exetel.com.au/members/accou ... ink=link01. The section "12 midnight to 12 noon: I don't want to be charged when I reach my peak" should be Off-Peak.

Regards,
MJH

Also, it says you can change your selection at any time during the month, however it fails to mention that you can only change it once per month.

It isn't possible to have the shaping at 128k or 192k?
I guess there are costs that are being considered here.
Even if you can't. Thanks for the awesum options. Exetel is definately ahead of the rest when it comes to offering better service.

It isn't possible to do that at the moment - it defeats the purpose of shaping versus charging.

In the future, it may be possible to have a lesser per gb charge for a lower speed after the initial quota has been reached.

That page is a little dicey.

When you view plan detail here: https://www.exetel.com.au/members/accou ... ink=link01
it shows that you haven't selected the required option even though one has :)

If you click make change on that page it goes to this page here: https://www.exetel.com.au/members/accou ... _shape.php
This page shows within what period you are shaped. Maybe remove the option on the previous page or just have an option on the side bar looking at this page.

But I know how hard it is to code in PHP so understandable ;)

And in regards to after making the change it says REQUEST: "PENDING". What does this mean?

Cheers,
Croziac

It doesn't do that for me but I've forwarded your comments to a sysadmin.

Pending - because it won't come in to effect until May 1st 2008.

I seem to keep getting "There is no change made from your request " when selecting the options, and can't get them to remain selected

I have the same problem. Have some screen caps that I could provide
