Should Exetel de-prioritise Peer-to-Peer traffic if at all?

Let me add my name to this growing list. I thought it might just be school holidays affecting me, but the slow speeds continue. used to achieve 300k/s from usenet but now struggle to get 10k/s.

Adsl2+ inc phone
sync
Upstream 278800
Downstream 3390700

Broadband Speed Test Results

Test run on 04/05/2008 @ 08:18 AM

Mirror: Exetel
Data: 3 MB
Test Time: 52.78 secs

Your line speed is 464 kbps (0.46 Mbps).
Your download speed is 58 KB/s (0.06 MB/s).

I suppose I'm in the same boat as others here. I've been documenting the issue in this thread but have yet to see any response from Exetel. I don't go much into download speeds in my thread because my main issue is response times to servers which are frequently poor and often affected by packet loss.

To be honest I've not seen anything like the error rates that are showing up on the Exetel network (see the packet loss percentages and big red messes on the graphs in the traces I've posted in the thread linked above) when running similar traces on previous ISPs I've been with.

At the moment I'm deciding whether to raise a fault for this or begin looking for another ISP. The results of the traces I've been running along with the other users on here describing similar experiences leaves me thinking this problem is well beyond the scope of a ticket and that I'd be better served cutting my losses by paying the contract severance penalty and moving on. I certainly don't intend to continue to use the service as it is for the remaining 8 months of my contract.

Trace complete.

The packest are LOST even before reaching oversea servers...
So.. anyone has any suggestion of what's causing this?
As far as I know of... other ISP is not experiencing the same issue...

My ADSL2+ connection has slowed to the point of unacceptable also.

1500kbps down and 600kbps up ..
I used to get 19,000 kbps down ..damn it.

I sync a good line speed, but have stupidly slow throughput.

Maybe the recent power outages caused some switches to lose their correct config.

I'm raising a ticket now.

Are these speeds normal? I've noticed speed get progressively slower during the last week. What is exetel going to do about this?

I'm also having issues with speeds. Normally I can attain speeds of > 1.2megabytes per second from ausgamers, but currently only getting 125-200kilobytes/second. My modem still reports that my sync is > 18Mbit, but throughput is significantly lower than this. Any update on where this problem is originating from?

I have been on my new 12-month contract for ADSL 2 since the start of February, as such I am only 3 months in.

I would like to ask that the $100 fee for breaking the contract be waived or discounted when I churn away from Exetel, simply because I am not getting the service I am paying for (let alone what I was promised).

Exetel are yet to offer ANY EXPLANATION whatsoever for this widespread issue. I have gone through some of the other 'Slow ADSL2+ speeds' threads on this forum and it seems little to nothing is being done about it.

It's really hard to be diplomatic about this issue, because I am at my wits end!

If you read the posts, those issues have been resolved, the packet loss / speed problem has been there since thursday and are now worse.

I gave up pointing this problem long time ago.. EXETEL keep telling that they have more than enough bandwidth to keep the speed.. But they never gave any straight answer why this is happening..
only answer I said to my self is I'm getting what I paid for and If I need a better & steady service I'm gonna have to pay couple of more bucks for a different ISP.. :?

Kill me now.

Sitting on a massive repair bill on WoW due to general unplayability and my stubbornness trying to keep playing with 4 second lag spikes.

This really is a problem. Basically, the 12 hours of the day I am up, the connection is SO laggy, it is virtually unplayable.

I'm not paying to be back on dial-up equivalent gaming (Hell, atleast I had a stable ping on dial up...)
