W.A. Users PLEASE HELP!... Can you access Belldirect.com.au?
Re: W.A. Users PLEASE HELP!... Can you access Belldirect.com.au?
58.96.112.0/21 is not only 58.96.112.X

In CIDR notation 58.96.112.0/21 = 58.96.112.0 - 58.96.119.255

Re: W.A. Users PLEASE HELP!... Can you access Belldirect.com.au?
Thanks Corey, you're most informative.
When I was first migrated to the 58.96.x.x POP and the issue began (nearly 6 weeks ago!) I was first assigned an IP address which was lower than the range you mentioned, although as I said before, I can't remember the actual number.
Therefore, I suppose unblocking the range mentioned wouldn't have helped me back then, and assuming the issue is still the same ... oh dear!
I noticed from other threads that not only AAPT, but also iinet, powertel and goodness knows who else is now suspected of blocking Exetel IP addresses.
After such a long wait, it's a pity Exetel can't do something to provide me with a temporary connection like I asked earlier.
I know Exetel doesn't guarantee connection at all, but after 6 weeks don't you think that common courtesy demands some kind of extra effort, surely!? Or is a month or two's wait normal?
I just tried connecting to https://www.belldirect.com.au/ again. Not working yet.
Bruce.

Re: W.A. Users PLEASE HELP!... Can you access Belldirect.com.au?
I've been looking at the ADSL2 threads on this forum and have not found anyone complaining of similar website access issues.
Can anyone advise me whether changing to ADSL2 might get around this connection problem?
Will I still have the dreaded 58.96.x.x IP address on ADSL2?
Regards,
Bruce.

Re: W.A. Users PLEASE HELP!... Can you access Belldirect.com.au?
Thanks Gidget,
Yes, the problem does seem to be resolved, as I can now access the site again! Hooray!!
Thanks to everyone who helped.
I'd really like to know what the problem was if you'd be kind enough to find out for me.
By the way, I'm still considering changing to ADSL2 now that the local exchange has been upgraded, as the price is similar anyway.
Regards,
Bruce.
