Internet Semi-Down? Can't connect to servers outside AUS

Why can I connect to some sites like google.com.au but any others say facebook I cannot. I can't log into msn or connect to any vent servers.

Can't seem to resolve anything outside aus servers? or something like that

Yep, very irritating. Beat me to the post. No "planned" or "unplanned" maintenance announced. Can't seem to get through a month any more, without a major incident.

Same here. Not an outside Aus problem however. Can't get to http://www.canberra.org.au but can reach http://www.google.co.uk for example.

Yes, I am the same....

Most annoying as I was in the middle of a poker game and I had just taken the lead - it has taken too long to come back so I am probaly out and lost $42 because I disconnected.... Not happy.

Could be an Optus issue. Optus users on Whingepool reporting problems.

Yea its semi down as you say. I was in a middle of Stock Trading. Nearly missed a chance to make a couple thousand So glad they offer trading over the phone.

I'm on a telstra exchange, unless you mean a service optus supplies directly to exetel??

I'm experiencing the same problem. ADSL1 Sydney on Telstra exchange. Can't load up most overseas stuff, e.g. http://yahoo.com/.

+1 here with the same sorts of problems, can connect to some sites and not others. For example can open my banks website for 2 banks I deal with but can't connect to their internet banking portals. MSN and AOL Messenger no go, Skype no problem, and various other random websites not working....

Interesting that there's nothing here yet from the Exetel Staff / Support team on this one...???

This problem seems to be almost resolved, just a little slow now and my MSN has just re-connected. Strangely I couldn't log into the forums here for a while either.

Probably still a bit early for most of the Exetel guys here, but they should be active pretty soon.

What's really weird I was having issues and couldn't get to forum.exetel.com.au

It seems to be fixed.
