I am on Current Plan Type: INCPHONE Z
Requested Plan Type: Z/20INCTEL

I applied for this Plan 2 day ago, but in the change plan status still pending. I wonder how long it takes to change to a new plan.

Plans are only changed at the start of the month. It should update within the first day or two of the month.

Currently on old Plan Type: INC2DSLA. If I change to Z/20INCTEL, whether a new 12month contract term apply?
I read previous posts, some said yes, some said no.I am a bit confused. Can someone help on this?

Thanks a lot

ForumAdmin says yes. Plan page says no. One of them is right.

See http://forum.exetel.com.au/viewtopic.ph ... 08#p274008. Still seems to be a little contradictory so you might want to email billing@exetel.com.au for confirmation.

Edit: Thanks Rex. Found it just as you posted.

i just changed from nf/byo to z/byo.

There was no mention of contract, which to me suggests that there isn't one. (i'd assume exetel can't put you on a 12mth contract without you agreeing)

Having said that I wouldn't mind having current price locked in for 12mths :D.

Generally, you should go by the web site and plan sign-up page. But you can email billing@exetel.com.au to confirm

Patience is a virtue you know. Plan changes are *processed* on the 1st day of each month, so you will need to wait until at least business hours. Why are you in such a desperate need to see some letters change on your plan anyway? Makes no difference whether you start the first few days of the month on an INCPHONE or a Z/IncTel plan, unless you are planning on downloading more than 60GB in offpeak on day 1?!

In fact, the policy *used* to be that unless you submit a plan change on or before the 26th, it may not get processed in time. I suspect this is no longer the case, but if I were in your position, I'd see what happens by Monday and then, if necessary, email residentialsupport@exetel.com.au to get an update

I changed my plan last night, and it has already updated in "view my service details", and got an email about it dated 3:34am. Also, regarding contract, this is what it said when I applied for update:

•If you move to another plan, there will currently be a charge of $10.00. The charge for changing plans varies from time to time and you should check close to the time that you are considering changing plans.
•I understand that this $10.00 fee will be debited on the first working day of next month together with my monthly plan access fee.
•I agree to the plan change fee being debited to my credit card/bank account.
•I agree to new 12 months contact if I apply to change to plan FP-D1 or FP-D2
•You must have submitted a plan change request on or before the last day of any month.

Since I didn't change to FP-D1 or FP-D2, I assume there is no new 12 months contract..?

(I'm still a little disappointed I have to pay the $10 to change, when the new plans are better than my old one, plus they just added $5 service charge if I stayed on my old plan, starting 1/4/10... ie in March the old plans were not cost-effective, then in April they brought out new plans with higher downloads and less restrictions for the same price, which apparently are cost-effective..? I can understand that in the IT world things can change quickly, but perhaps there should have been some explanation of this to the people they sent the $5 surcharge email to back on 3/3/10? Anyhow, I've changed now, and had my whinge to go with it :)

for those interested
it seems as though exetel will let you keep your old off-peak download times if you had 2am to 2pm when you move to a new plan :D.
