I have money invested in overseas markets and am nervous whenever there is a problem with my broadband service.
A previous broadband supplier I had offered an emergency dial-up service to meet this need. I think I only ever needed to use it once but it certainly gave me peace of mind knowing the option was there.
Perhaps Exetel would consider offering such a service. Alternatively could you suggest a third party service which would be charged on a usage basis only.

Re: Emergency dial-up service
Most Australia Post and convenience stores sell dial up cards, or you could always plug your mobile phone into your computer.womba wrote:I have money invested in overseas markets and am nervous whenever there is a problem with my broadband service.

Re: Emergency dial-up service
Check out http://forum.exetel.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=13356. There are a number of suggestions in there including MCCMikey's offer of usage based dial-up as well as free, emergency (but 10 minute limited) dial up access.womba wrote:Alternatively could you suggest a third party service which would be charged on a usage basis only.

Thanks for your help. I see that the subject has been well covered before. Next time I will make a more thorough search before posting.
