Statement on top of Naked ADSL2 form incomprehensible

Post by stetner » Mon Apr 07, 2008 10:02 pm

The statement (with a check box) at the top of the Naked ADSL2 application form says:
CLICK HERE TO TICK - IF YOU HAVE JUST INSTALLED A NEW TELEPHONE LINE, YOU MUST ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE BEEN BEEN MAKING AND RECEIVING PHONE CALLS PRIOR TO LODGING ANY NAKED DSL2 APPLICATION. IF YOU HAVE NOT CHECKED THAT YOUR CURRENT LINE IS ACTIVE AND YOU CAN MAKE/RECEIVE PHONE CALLS, MEANS YOU HAVE A FAULT OF YOUR TELEPHONE SERVICE, AND NAKED DSL2 INSTALLATION AND USE AFTER ACTIVATION DATE CAN BE DELAYED FOR QUITE SOME TIME.
Even if the check box was labeled (say yes), the above is not a question.

It is very unclear what it is asking and the english is atrocious!

I currently have a phone line that is functioning for in/outgoing calls and is supporting an ADSL1 service.

Am I supposed to tick that or not????

PLEASE reword that so it is clear.

Thanks

PS. I am not signing up because I don't know what to do with that box. When I find out I will sign up.

The purpose of the box is to confirm an operational phone service prior to moving to Naked DSL2+ (in case of a problem when you transfer to Naked DSL).

Please ensure that your phone service works in both directions, then you should tick that box.

Thank you.

Please log a request to have the wording clarified.

I read:

IF YOU HAVE JUST INSTALLED A NEW TELEPHONE LINE

And I would say, no, I have an old phone line, therefore I will not tick it.

It should say something like:

Tick if you have verified your phone line is working

Thanks again.

Thank you for your suggestion.

I'll get the wording changed TO:

THE TELEPHONE LINE YOU NOMINATE FOR THE NAKED ADSL2 SERVICE MUST BE A WORKING TELEPHONE LINE. PLEASE CHECK THE BOX TO CONFIRM THAT YOUR TELEPHONE LINE IS CAPABLE OF MAKING AND RECEIVING CALLS AT THE TIME OF SUBMITTING THIS APPLICATION. IF THE LINE IS NOT WORKING THEN THERE COULD BE DELAYS OF MANY WEEKS IN PROCESSING THIS APPLICATION.
