By comparison, you could have
$55, 6GB + 60GB, uploads aren't charged.
$45 worth of calls at the Local / STD / Mobile rates, or use VoIP and save even more.

I doubt such a plan would be possible however. Too many users would abuse it to their advantage. The plan Optus offer would be based on the average amount of calls a user would make, so they still come out ahead, in some cases, very far ahead.

I understand what you're saying.

But my current usage is approx 6gb. and telephone call costs can be much more than $45. In my case. I would come out ahead with the optus plan.

I know of a few business owners that have/are switching to this plan. And is very much considering it but would prefer to stay with exe.

I have 2 cousins, brothers. One has the Optus plan you mention. The other has a $55 Exetel Optus-based plan with VoIP. The Exetel brother comes out in front every month he has had the plan, and his wife loves having effectively 2 lines in the place.

Did you bother to read the fine print?

Potential $300.00 in excess fess;
~ If you exceed the standard data usage allowance of your plan, any additional usage will be considered excess usage and will be charged to your account at a rate of $0.15 per MB (megabyte) until you reach 2GB of excess usage, after which you will be speed limited (which cannot be removed) to 64kbps(4GB and 10GB plan) or 128kbps (20GB plan) until the end of your billing month.

The included mobile calls are only to Optus GSM numbers.
The unlimited call offer excludes the following call types 19XX calls (not applicable to the $99 amd $129 plans), calls to non-Optus GSM mobiles, calls made over another carrier's network, International calls, Directory Assistance and Operator Service calls plus other services such as MessageBank, Voicemail and Unlisted Numbers.

1. What happens if you leave a torrent or other client that uploads on?

2. The $99.00 plan with unlimited mobile calls is only available to people with an ABN.
