Maybe put in big writing on the e-mails and the letter with the new SIM that you shouldn't activate your new SIM after lunchtime on a Friday; as you won't be able to SMS or use HSPA services until Monday when Provisioning is back at work.
Alternatively have someone working that section on a weekend even if it is just for a couple of hours each day.

That isn't a normal situation, have you got a ticket number with provisioning?

Now even that would be a great idea. It would definately help to speed up the processing of applications that are done on the weekend.
