As I originally said - I don't think these plans will appeal to users who have access to ADS2 services from other carriers on their exchange - they are more expensive than those offered by TPG and other providers.
Plenty have complex services, which stop them getting ADSL2 from anybody else; are complex services like "Fax Duet" going to interfere with the ability to get ADSL2 on a Telstra port like it does for the other providers?
it's a long time since i was involved in the ins and outs of provisioning - FAX DUET was always a no-no in those days. Someone like Jason would have to give a current answer.

We had one recently on AAPT infrastructure who also had Fax Duet - the service was setup successfully.
As to complex services - Anything that is complex for ADSL1, would certainly be complex for Telstra ADSL2+.
(So, Communic8 Prepaid, Suspended Lines, InContact).
But, products like "Multiple Number" would work fine(where the primary number is used).

We will not now receive the 'final' contract amendments until next week - so the plans will not be able to be put on the web site until late next week.

$65.00 = 50gb plus 50gb (SSS - no telephone line with Exetel)
$85.00 = 200gb plus 100gb (SSS - no telephone line with Exetel)
I'll be jumping on that boat! Happy to wait until next week. Just wanted to see if I could get a clarification of total costs.

Moving from 8Mb/s to this plan, I'm reading that we keep our phone line with who it already is with (AAPT) and that's it, we only have to pay for the rapid-churn cost. Any idea how much that would be? And how long would our service be down for? Modem is already ADSL2+ capable.

EDIT: Will be getting the $85 plan (currently on the $90 50GB/50GB 8Mb/s plan).

I take it customers will have their circuits terminated at their 'local' PoP like is done for the ADSL1 plans?

Yes - ADSL2 (like fibre) is delivered to Exetel's local PoPs from the Telstra POIs via the same infrastructure used to deliver ADSL1 connections.

Hi

I recently applied for the 8mb plan 1/8/10 but I havent been connected (apparently it is still pending)..Now I found out that adsl2 will be available from my ALBION PARK exchange (telstra only) so is it possible that I change my application to the new adls2 plan when it is availably(hopefully soon)?

Thanks

It may have been answered somewhere already...I apologise if I am going over old ground.

What is the reasoning with only offering 50GB as the smallest amount of downloads?
Is there no market for a 20, 15 or even 10GB plan?

Telstra are charging a large amount to Exetel for the connections so there would be no way to provide low cost plans. $65 might be the cheapest Exetel can do.

What's the offpeak time going to be on these plans? I'm assuming it will be 6 hours since on the larger plan the peak allowance is double the offpeak.

the new prices are very good 8)

i imagine they will prove very popular

they sure beat the suppliers own deals

i listened to the hard sell the other night from Bigpond because i was curious and because i know someone who was upsold by them a few days before and i wanted to quantify it for them before a fuss is made about it and a change made to their plan

Very interested in upgrading from 8mb adsl1 to adsl2 however, my adsl speed seems to be capped at 6mbs. Is there any way of knowing that the adsl2 speed wont be burdened by the same artificial cap?

I have two questions:

Will shaping be an option for once your quota is reached? (although, I suppose at $1 per GB, it's probably not worth worrying about)

Why is Exetel only offering ADSL2 speeds, not ADSL2+? It says on the Exetel page that you can get speeds between 15 and 18 MB down, true 2+ speeds would be up to 24.
