It's $15 to sign up for a Z plan....

Post by thomashouseman » Tue Sep 13, 2011 6:50 pm

It's $15 to sign up for a Z plan sim.... but it's $50 to move from a cap plan or z plan to a lower priced cap or z plan.
That makes no sense as I'm not under any contract term.
What's to stop me cancelling / churning away and then re-signing up for $15 instead?

My understanding is that Z plans are not available to new customers, you can only transfer to those plans from within your member's facility and those Z plans have a 12 month contract term.

As far as I know Z29 and Z39 do not attract the $50 fee.

Yes, but as an existing Exetel member it will allow me to apply for a new Z plan in member facilities.

It could be a feasible option to port out and port back in to Exetel since you have an ADSL connection with us.

Could I even keep the same sim and save myself $15? :D

If you port the number to another provider and port back in to Exetel, you will not be able to use the same SIM card. A new SIM will be sent to you.

Seems a lot of hassle on both Exetel and your end user's behalf, why not just lower your change plan cost to match the SIM replacement fee?

It's not as simple as that. Commercials, transparent to customers, are involved.
