VoIP Changes

On 15 Apr 12 changes to VoIP [lans mean that there will now be a no more free DID's.

There will now be a minimum charge, starting at $5 per month which will include a number of standard calls depending on how much one uses the service.
All VP plans I belive remain as is.

I belive that the following is a fairly typical scenario;

Customer has free DID with VP1 which gives him 100 standard calls for $5 per month, customer makes less than 60 calls per month so there would select RV5 for $5 per month and get 60 std calls (by the way my members facility does not give the number of calls included at each price level)

So, but the customer has VP1 which gives 100 std calls but VP plans can only be commenced or discontinued at the start of the billing period ie 1st April 2012. Not 15th,

Does the customer cancel as of first and pay 10c call for 10 days and then get 60 calls for 15 days. Or does customer continue with VP1 pay $5 on 1 Apr for 100 calls and another $5 on 15 April (or is it $2.50) for another 60 (or is it 30?) paying total of $10 or $7.50 for more calls than they wanted.

Not going to break the bank but some people do watch the pennies.

Can we have ab answer please as to what will actually happen on 15th (another billing run or what) and what is the best time to cancel VP1?

Any VPx plans are in addition to the base VoIP plans. Nothing will change with them.

It is your choice if you want to cancel them or retain them.

The base VoIP plans (RV5, RV15, RV30) are all pro-rated and billed in arrears.
So they will be billed from the conversion date (15/4/2012) for the period 15/4/2012 - 31/4/2012 on 1/5/2012.
For those billed on the 28/4/2012, they will be billed on that date for the period 15/4/2012 - 28/4/2012.

Thanks for the clarification.

Another question re VPx packs and I guess the international ones as well.

If customer does not manually change his paln prior to 15 Apr what if any of the call usage generated under one or more of these packs will be taken into account when calculating the new RVx plan?

They are completely seperate so no call usage is taken into consideration.
