Modem recommendation

Post by raknal » Tue Oct 16, 2018 3:28 pm

I have been connected to FTTN for a couple of years and using the exetel supplied Netcomm NF10WV modem

This modem is now giving me slow speeds average of 8 mbps on a 25mbps plan plus constant dropouts. When I connect with the ethernet cable I get 22 mbps on average

So please recommend a better modem that will be set up to connect to exetel.

TIA

Hi Richard,

Since FTTN services need to have Exetel - NBN registration, we can suggest our latest modem models as ZTE H268A (You can order through Exetel Sales team) and Netcomm NF18ACV.

I use Google Wifi devices, you could get two, one for downstairs, one for upstairs.

Or buy whatever wifi extender you wish, but that's hte issue no the modem if it's working fine via ethernet.

The modem is 5 metres from my pc which is averaging 8mbps. I have an extender upstairs which results in similar speeds
Over many months speeds can fluctuate between 22mbps rarely, to 5mbps on the current netcomm modem
