Billion 7800DXL ADSL2+ modem definitely NBN compatible?

Post by Travis » Thu Dec 20, 2018 3:10 pm

Hi,

I'm currently on Exetel ADSL2+ and intend to switch over to Exetel NBN (via HFC) very shortly.

My current ADSL2+ modem is a Billion 7800DXL which is apparently NBN compatible (see http://www.billion.com/Indoor%7COutdoor ... %207800DXL).

It would be great if someone could confirm that this indeed would work with Exetel's NBN service (via a HFC connection).

Thanks.

You need to have a modem / router which is a Fibre compatible with WAN port available. In your Billion 7800DXL model, there is no specific WAN port, however, there is a reserved LAN port where you can convert as a WAN port. If the function is working as explained, it should be compatible with HFC.
