DYNALINK RTA1046VW:Can I turn off the wireless capability?

Post by richie » Tue Nov 10, 2009 6:12 pm

I am considering signing up for Exetel ADSL2+/Voip and buying the DYNALINK RTA1046VW.
Can you please tell me if I can turn off the wireless capability of this modem?
Either from the unit itself, such as a switch, or via software configuration?
The reason I ask is because I am EMF [Electo-Magnetic Frequency] sensitive.
Which means I feel the wireless frequency buzzing through my body. Very annoying.
I prefer to used the ethernet cable connections.

Thanks
Richard

Yes, there is an on/off wireless setting in the Dynalink. You can also unscrew the antenna. The same frequencies are used by cordless phones. It is not possible to evade this radiation unless you live inside an earthed conductive shell with no windows. I built a place like that once for instrument calibration and some physics experimentation - nobody could live in it.

Thanks buddy.
I'm not trying to avoid all EMF,
just trying to minimize it in my home.
Cheers
