NF10WV dropouts

Post by mjwills » Tue Dec 27, 2016 12:19 pm

My mother (on Exetel) has recently switched from ADSL to FTTN.

She is getting regular'ish dropouts (at least twice a day that she notices). We were watching a movie on Google Play last night and the internet dropped out twice in 2.5 hours.

Modem (NF10WV) setup was by Exetel (modem was supplied by them), although I did the VOIP configuration manually (it wasn't setup).

Is this a known issue (http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2564511 suggests perhaps that it is)? Any suggestions to improve it? Any alternative modem (with VoIP and wifi) that can be used instead and Exetel will allow?

We could see few re sync attempts in past few days in your service. However checking through the radius server the session is now stable for more than 17 hours. Therefore monitor the service further and check if the connection remains stable or not. If the connection drops, check before you power reboot the router, if the connection establishes automatically or after a power reboot only.

For the voip refer http://exewiki.exetel.com.au/index.php? ... etup_Guide and reconfigure the voip using your service given credentials accordingly. If not contact Exetel so we could get a remote session and configure this for you.

If the modem is having issues, once the Netcomm support is available after holidays, we can get them to investigate this. However since it is a FTTN service, you may borrow a similar NF10WV or Netcomm NF4V router only for the testing purposes. Ticket Ref# 11067627
