ZTE H268A - WIFI CALLING router setting

Post by chien.tran » Sat Mar 23, 2019 4:26 pm

Hi everyone,
I just moved in this area with no phone reception in my apartment.
Wifi calling seems to be the only option i have now. I tried to contact Optus multiple times to investigate this area but no success.

Exetel NBN sent me ZTE H268A router. However, i cannot get Wifi Calling through this router. I assume Router setting is not correct.
I have limited knowledge on setting up the router.
Optus document : https://www.optus.com.au/content/dam/op ... tsheet.pdf
Suggested the settings on this router:
DNS PORT 53 UDP/TCP
IKEv2 PORT 500 AND PORT 4500 UDP
IPSEC-ESP PORT 50 UDP

Extel router manual:http://exewiki.exetel.com.au/images/3/3 ... ch2017.pdf

I have no clue how to input these values to the router so WIFI calling can be activated.
I need my phone number to be active 24/7 as my parents emergency devices linked to my phone.

Wifi Calling works perfectly fine on my phone at my brothers house using his internet. I think he uses Telstra home gateway.

Can someone please guide me on how to set this router up?

Thanks so much,
John

Hi,
I already PM my details.

I have tried Wifi Calling at my brothers' house and it works perfectly fine. He's using Netgear Modem connecting to Optus NBN.

I can only assume that ZTE modem settings are incorrect and need to be modified to work with Wifi Calling.

Hi Judy,
Can you please get back to me urgently on the settings on ZTE modem?

I tested Wifi Calling on my parents modem today. It runs perfectly fine as well. They are using Optus Gateway modem for their NBN connection.

I believe there must be a way to configure ZTE modem for Wifi Calling. Pleade help !

Thanks

Also could you also provide us the exact settings (Optus requirement) required to be configured ?

Thanks

Optus required setting:

DNS PORT 53 UDP/TCP
IKEv2 PORT 500 AND PORT 4500 UDP
IPSEC-ESP PORT 50 UDP

Optus advised that Exetel might have put the block for Wifi Calling on their system. Therefore, Wifi Calling is not activated.
