Is Exetel's Ironport Spam Filter still effective?

Is there an update on this, James? The spam filter seems to have broken down completely. I have no wish to join any online casino, receive JapaneseJunkmail, nor buy Viagra online

The sooner this is fixed the better. My Thunderbird filters cannot be trained fast enough to accurately kill off what gets through. There is some nasty stuff coming through.

Will we be reimbursed for the SPAM filter this month ? It is really disappointing the service is not operational. I am getting around 20 email a day with penis growth/enlargement offers.

With all due respect, but if an anti-spam is not filtering words like penis growth, viagra, penis enlargement, so what's the point of subscribing to a paid service where I have to do the work myself ?

If we pay for an anti-SPAM service, we expect that it can provide an anti-SPAM service at least as good as the ones provided by free email providers like hotmail and gmail.

Please keep us posted when the issue is fixed. I will formally raise a support call.

It seems that it is time for Exetel staff to get some training in customer service. Your need to put yourself in the customer's shoes. My email is shared with my family and it is not nice to receive the sort of messages that is coming through.

I am in exactly the same boat as yourself, we are working at fixing this, but it is not as easy as you might think.

Yeah, once upon a time Exetel would have acknowledged the issue and given EVERY ironport subscriber a refund for the failed service, not:

IMO, their boast to be the cheapest AND best ISP is slowly degrading. Hopefully they'll pick up the ball, take a hard look at themselves and improve things again soon.

I haven't given up on them.... yet.

We would have never given a refund on a service with no service level agreement, and no contract.

If customers aren't happy with it, they don't have to use it.

Today I have received 40+ emails most of which have the common crotch theme. Any Bayesian algorithm should have stopped these dead in their tracks. The Thunderbird spam filter treats many of them as junk now that it is sufficiently trained . I am perplexed as to why a filter which is operational is not working optimally but in the end I would just like to see it fixed as I am sure can be done. The sooner the better before the tsunami of priapic pestilence swamps us all !!

If of interest, Exetel will be clustering multiple C670 appliances to provide this service over the current Ironport boxes we use.
