JasonM can you please arrange to take me off the stability profile ?

Re: Newcastle internet getting really slow
I can't find any reference to you being on a stability profile.
Re: Newcastle internet getting really slow
sorry it was from job #AF051023
it was for random dropouts which were happening for me during jan/feb , would happen frequently then be ok for days , still occurred after the stability profile was enabled but stopped soon after. i had changed to new modem and cable durig this time also

Re: Newcastle internet getting really slow
Hi guys,
I have been having the same problems as everyone in this thread for some time now. I'm connected to the Charlestown Exchange and according to http://www.adsl2exchanges.com.au/viewex ... hange=CHLS, Optus is playing up.
Just wondering if the upgrades to Newcastle exchange will affect the Charlestown exchange at all?
http://www.exetel.com.au/speed/results. ... recorded=1
If things don't change tomorrow i will post again.
Thanks for your time.

Re: Newcastle internet getting really slow
I'm also on the Charlestown exchange and I'm getting worse than dial up speeds, can't even get speed test results. It's been going downhill for the last few weeks and this is the worst it's been, it's almost unusable. I'm hoping it's gets better soon.
Re: Newcastle internet getting really slow
Looks like everything is going well again for me at Hamilton Exchange(touch Wood) download speed tests - morning, afternoon and at night all around 9000.been like this since sunday night. So the wait till after sunday (22-2-09)for a fix was pretty close to the mark. thanks
Re: Newcastle internet getting really slow
Ok still seem to be having the usual dramas on my end.
Was working fine all morning but come about 3:30-4PM my connection has slowed right down again.
I have been playing World of Warcraft (yes, i play WoW
)on and off all day paying special attention to my ping which was at around an average of 300ms. I did the test shortly after my ping climbed past 700ms.
Have done the test a few times since and the max speed i have been able to achieve is just over 170KB/sec.
Here is my modem sync info:
Line State Connected
Modulation ADSL_2plus
Annex Mode Annex A
Max Tx Power -38 dBm/Hz
SNR Margin:
Down: 9 dB
UP: 11 dB
Line Attenuation
Down: 28 dB
Up: 11 dB
Data Rate:
Down: 6001 kbps
Up: 706 kbps

Re: Newcastle internet getting really slow
I too have to complain of the same thing with the Hamilton exchange. For several weeks I have had a ticket open for frequent dropouts. I was told that this was resolved.
Over the past several days have been getting terrible speeds when connected at good sync's. And still getting dropouts.
Emailed Exetel last night to report this problem and was told that it was a problem with my modem. From reading this thread, I doubt that.
