Last night, I applied to upgrade my connection from ADSL to ADSL2+ and today, I received the following email:
Your application to upgrade your ADSL connection to an ADSL2+ service without telephone has been unsuccessful. This is because you are not currently connected to a Powertel Enabled exchange.
My Exchange is in Maitland (NSW) and according to this post: http://forum.exetel.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=288&t=29744, it is actually Powertel Enabled.
Another thing is, whilst searching this Forum, I found this Post: http://forum.exetel.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=226&t=30776, which also states that the Maitland Exchange is Powertel Enabled.
Please could you Explain this???

Maitland exchange is in East Maitland and is on the Exetel list as you say. Is that yours? There is another at Rutherford. Is there a possibility that Telstra has spread both exchanges across your area, adding in RIMS, as they do in parts of Sydney? BTW Your profile says Newcastle.

Yes, this is mine. How would one find out if you're on a RIM or not and what difference would that make???

http://www.adsl2exchanges.com.au/viewsu ... bbrev=MAIT All those purple splotches are bad news. I have no idea if RIMs are the cause of your rejection, but if you are on one, you are invisible to the ADSL2 exchange equipment which runs over copper.

Interesting link - My Street and the surrounding Streets have no splotches on them what-so-ever.

No, neither do I - It would be good to get someone to wait-in on this who could explain it!
