Experiencing similar problems to others - some sites loading VERRRRY slowly and others appear normal. Only started today.

Can someone from Exetel please advise what the problem is?

Many Thanks

And now it is working again for me.
Seems like in the last 10-20 mins it has recovered.

Dear Users,

We are trying to investigate what could possibly be the issue, so far we have isolated all devices that could be causing the problem.

However here still seems to be an issue somewhere.

Can the people who are experiencing issues please perform ping tests to the sites they are trying to connect to while they are experiencing this issue.

Regards

It went away for a few hours and everything seem to be working fine; again certain web sites don't open up quickly enough, or not at all!

I changed my MTU to no avail. Down to 1400 and i'm still cactus.

So I went to the Draytek website looking for a firmware update and guess what?

http://www.draytek.com.au wont load. I did get around 1 hour full access at about 5pm yesterday.

So i'm stuffed as well. Really frustrating.

I've been having these "random" problems since Saturday night, too. Random in time, and random with the sites that have problems. Eg.

Pinging help.ubuntu.com [91.189.90.19] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 91.189.90.19: bytes=32 time=378ms TTL=39
Request timed out.
Reply from 91.189.90.19: bytes=32 time=380ms TTL=39
Reply from 91.189.90.19: bytes=32 time=382ms TTL=39
Ping statistics for 91.189.90.19:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 3, Lost = 1 (25% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 378ms, Maximum = 382ms, Average = 380ms

And from a Ubuntu box:

$ ping -c4 help.ubuntu.com
PING help.ubuntu.com (91.189.90.19) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from yangmei.canonical.com (91.189.90.19): icmp_seq=1 ttl=39 time=381 ms
--- help.ubuntu.com ping statistics ---
4 packets transmitted, 1 received, 75% packet loss, time 3009ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 381.201/381.201/381.201/0.000 ms

I'm on PTLA plan (Brisbane). A friend elsewhere in Brisbane is on an Optus network plan (Exetel) and has not had these problems.

I've rebooted the router - no benefit. I've changed IP address in the members' area - that had a short term effect (perhaps coincidental?).

Hi Oblong,

This was probably concidental, we are still investigating the actual cause.

Hello William,

In my case it didn't matter.
I was downloading at full speed and no connection.
And
When all downloads were closed this morning still no connection.

Cheers,
Froglegs
