Slow Speeds - Maitland Exchange

Post by Deaths_Vengeance » Sat Sep 26, 2009 9:22 pm

Currently experiencing slow speeds from the exchange, i have checked cables and have reset the modem serveral times, i also have been recieving the occasional dropout, here are the following details:

Modem Stats:
Downstream Upstream

SNR Margin:
8.2 11.0 db

Line Attenuation:
25.0 18.3 db

Data Rate:
15028 791 kbps

Exetel Speed Test Results:
Your current bandwidth reading is:

826.00kbps

which means you can download at 103.25 KB/sec. from our servers.

Speedtest.net Result:

Any information as to why the speed is so low will help.

Cheers

Will add more details as i find them

Does seem low, especially as your sync is so healthy.

If the slow speeds continue, you may want to log a fault via residentialsupport@exetel.com.au. Include the sync stats, perhaps also try a few more downloads like from www.microsoft.com or www.apple.com to support the speed test results and include these in the email. You will likely get an auto response saying to retry under isolation. Once you have done this (I doubt it will improve speeds because your sync speed suggests there is no feedback from phones), reply to the ticket and it will be looked into further.
