Naked ADSL/ Bayswater Exchange VIC
This started Monday (25th), 7pm onwards and I thought it would eventually go away but it hasn't
some sites are good and some don't open at all.
What I've tried already:
- entered Exetel DNS & OpenDNS servers in my modem
- rebooted modem, re-synced
Also noticed that I am now syncing at half upstream speed than I used to a few days ago
Downstream sync speed seems same as before
As an example of last night (7pm-10pm):
I could open exetel.com.au & members section
but couldn't get to forum.exetel.com.au ?

bad pings: only selected websites work
Re: bad pings: only selected websites work
I have an interesting "theory" that might explain what's going on
A friend connected to Exetel Naked this Monday, and he's been having similar problems to mine
He's on a different exchange.
I took my old modem/router to his place on Sunday , so as to set-up the modem, and entered his Exetel username/details.
Obviously the connection didn't work on Sunday since he was stated to be connected on Mon 25th.
So he reached home on Mon and 7pm onwards we both started having issues.
It only occurred to me now, but is it possible his modem is using my username/pw to connect to exetel ?? (somehow it didn't save the new one, and my old one was there before) D-LINK 604GT btw
Would that explain the weird connection we both have been seeing ....
I feel stupid not asking him to check this, he's not really tech-savy
Will check up tonight,

The forum isn't actually an official support channel, good to know you have it sorted anyway

Coz you were too quick in resolving it yourself. 7pm posted time and you resolved it by 10am the next morning.ozblogger wrote:btw how come no replies to this thread at all ?
Well done on resolving this issue by the way. Multiple logins are fairly uncommon and the symptoms are easily mis-diagnosed
