ADSL2 plan and keep existing pstn?

Post by ssw » Tue Sep 21, 2010 1:20 pm

Iam on a adsl1 plan (TELN) also a $15 voip service and wish to change to ADSL2 AAB with VP1 add on, my service is in my name, the line in, is in my partners name (different surname), which she wants to keep. Is this possible on the AAB plan, keeping her telstra service seperate to my ADSL or do I have to go to a ADSL plan TE 2D (keep telstra pstn)

AAB plans run over Telstra phone services, so it is technically possible, although I am not sure about the Owner legal situation. However, Exetel already has quietly migrated a large number of ADSL1 customers to the Powertel ADSL2 network, so I'd check that first - 2 things will give it away, (a) the modem upstream rate being higher than nominal ADSL1 plans, and (b) whether the user facility offers a simple plan change to AAB. If you are offered the plan there will be no need to make any special requests.
