Authentication Failure
Authentication Failure
My Naked ADSL2+ connection just dropped and restarted modern, all light goes to green, however, internet seems not working.
Checked the modern log, says, connection Authenticaion Failed.
I am sure the password is correct because we are online 10 min ago and no one changed it.
Be safe, I have changed password in the Members area and applied the new password in my Moderm settings, but same error.
Any ideas?

Re: Authentication Failure
Thanks for your reply, did they mention when to be fixed? I know this is a hard question for them

Re: Authentication Failure
Yes I did ask that question from them.. Unfortunately thay can't promise a time frame

Re: Authentication Failure
Yep. Same here.
When I called support there is a recorded message saying there are adsl2 issues in Victoria.
Edit: it would be good if the network status page was updated!

Still out this morning

Re: Authentication Failure
I'ts working now... but too late.. I'm really pissed that no info regarding this on "network status" or maintenance & outage updates page what so ever. Because of that I spent so much time on the phone talking to support staff who had no idea about the outage untill my 3rd call.

Re: Authentication Failure
Got SMS from exetel last night says ticket has been resolved.
It is working now after I restart my modern.

Re: Authentication Failure
Had my ADSL2 connection drop yesterday and have logged ticket # 3468077, my question is that I got a message to disconnect all devices from lines so line tests can be completed.
I have disconnected everything and tried to ring this morning but was out of hours and got automated service, so I sent a message via members area via open ticket and wanted to know if this should get through to support or should I ring again.

Re: Authentication Failure
It should have gotten through. I'll bring it to the attention of someone just to check for you thoughsujd wrote:so I sent a message via members area via open ticket and wanted to know if this should get through to support or should I ring again.
I am a volunteer moderator and not an Exetel staff member. As with all forum posts, mine do not constitute any "official" Exetel position. Support tickets may be logged via https://helpdesk.exetel.com.au or residentialsupport@exetel.com.au

Thanks CoreyPlover
Re: Authentication Failure
Just want to pass a big thank you to Exetel for getting my service back online Sunday after reporting fault on Thursday.
I am 99% sure the fault was caused by Telstra while working on the pits 50 meters from home as the net went down just after they started.

Re: Authentication Failure
I had this as well. Now it's working, heres what I did:
Reset modem
go to config = ping 192.168.1.1 (with the cable)
go to admin/admin - put your details....
Now internet should be back online.
