wadeholmes and punjabiz, I'm at normal speed (ADSL2, northern Sydney), so you are probably experiencing something local. punjabiz, are you located on the north coast as well? Could you both please check your modems to see if the line rate is still normal?)

(BTW, Gidget asked some time ago for users to at least give a rough idea of location in User control panel->Profile. It can help when speed and outage issues are reported)

Im at 70K download too in Hornsby from a US site. Sync speeds are normal on modem.

I take back my comment about normal in Sydney. I've just run a series of speed tests - usenet from Europe is a bit slow with 10 connections, but wget (1 connection) fetching from the Exetel mirror is half usual speed also. Linux iso torrents are usually quick, but I just got a half speed result (most peers in the US and Russia).

Modem is normal, so with your reports as well, it's not local.

No, the links are not saturated. See viewtopic.php?f=4&t=37728#p288654 in that same thread. Not that I know what the reason is, but I suspect it is one of those things that will magically fix itself in a short time
