TCV20-200 plan not available for existing users
TCV20-200 plan not available for existing users
Can anyone explain why the TCV20-200 plan is not available to existing customers?
I have looked in the member facilities page and the TCV20-200 plan is not there, but it is still being advertised on Exetel's website.
Due to my exchange and house only being serviced by Telstra or TPG DSLAMs, it appears that the only ADSL2 plan available to me is the TCV20-PAYU plan, and pay-as-you-go plans do not suit my needs.
It seems ridiculous to me to disconnect my current ADSL1 service with exetel, and then resign as a new customer. Surely there is means that existing users can access this plan?
I am willing to pay the respective fee to change over. Or even if there were other plans that had an included download allowance. Is there any new ADSL2 plans (with Telstra) on the horizon?
Exetel have always provided me with a very reliable service. I really don't want to leave Exetel, but by the looks of what is available I may have no choice.

Re: TCV20-200 plan not available for existing users
I can't speak for this particular plan, but on past occasions, plans have been made available to new customers before existing customers because of technical provisioning concerns and how Exetel want to streamline processing of requests and iron out any issues before making them available to a large number of users and potentially getting swamped with changeover requests.
Best bet is to ring Sales (or email residentialsales@exetel.com.au) and ask about the availability of this plan in your particular circumstances

It was available to existing customers prior to March 1, 2011tikadolly wrote:Can anyone explain why the TCV20-200 plan is not available to existing customers?

Just keep checking in your members facilities pages for it.
These pages change frequently and probably you will find it there again.
Re: TCV20-200 plan not available for existing users
It is now the 1st of april and I still cannot see this plan in my member's facilities page.
We have been with Exetel since the begining (2004). Our local exchange is Telstra only. Our current plan TE-2D is no longer available and cost's us $78 pm less the pioneer discount. We are light users. A 20 or 30 Gb per month ADSL2+ plan would be ideal for us, and guess what, such a plan is available for new users (TCV20-200). But us much loved loyal pioneers appear to be left out in the cold.
So do we jump ship after all these years and go to a Bigpond 50gb per month plan costing $50. Or should we continue on being loyal to Exetel and pay for a plan that is way in excess of our needs. Come on Exetel you can do much better we think????????
Oh and we have called residential sales. A very polite lass said, "sorry sir, but we cannot help you"!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DSF,
I notice you are in tea gardens. I live in Springwood and am having the same issue. The only telstra adsl2+ plan available on the members facility is TCV20-REGION-PAYU, so I'm wondering if it's a region/metro thing. Strange though that on the new customer sales page it mentions nothing about a different plan for regional and metro. I wonder if you applied as a new customer in a regional area, if you would end up on the regional plan(seems pretty dodgy).
All this is still quite frustrating especially as no one seems to be able to get a straight answer as to why.

Re: TCV20-200 plan not available for existing users
In Feburary, there was a TCV20-REGION-200 plan available for region 2, and I signed up for it.
$60/month, 200GB, no peak/off peak, 12-month contract, $40 plan change fee
Slightly cheaper than TE-2D at $65. The $40 was a plain, but it would wash out eventually.
TVC20-200 would have been better @$50, but apparently there is REGION 1/2/3 for Telsra ADSL2, and I'm in region 2.
Got pleasant surprise in last invoice, as the $40 had been refunded, probably because I selected new 12 month contract / web site glitch.
So the gamble paid off on the $40, sooner than I'd expected, and no peak/off peak is a bonus.
ForumAdmin did say earlier that the TCV20-REGION-200 plan was a limited offer.

Re: TCV20-200 plan not available for existing users
Guess what, we now have the TCV20-REGION-200 plan available in the members plan change facility. I would like to think that Exetel will look after the customers that have stayed loyal to them. Thus I have emailed Exetel to enquire if the $40 plan change fee will apply. Will post their response when I have it.
Come on Exetel, we have stuck by you, now you stick by us.

Re: TCV20-200 plan not available for existing users
Great news! I just logged in and found I have tcv20-200 available. I'll wait and see how you go with your request to waive the fee before I apply!

Re: TCV20-200 plan not available for existing users
Received an email from Exetel indicating that a $40 change plan would apply. So I changed plan in the members facility, but opted for a 12 month contract. To my suprise the change of plan fee came up as $0.00. So we shall see what happens with my next month invoice.

Yes but the email says $60/month and the main Exetel webpage ( http://www.exetel.com.au/a_plan_pricing_new.php ) says $50....pssturges wrote:Got an email from extel residential sales today. Free transfer to existing adsl customers to transfer to adsl2+!

That's odd. My email has $50 a month. I logged in and submitted an application @ $50 also.

Re: TCV20-200 plan not available for existing users
My understanding is that the price is $50 for customers in Region 1 as defined by Telstra (Capital cities and some major regional cities) and $60 for the rest of the country where the Telstra exchange is ADSL2 enabled.

Re: TCV20-200 plan not available for existing users
Hi, i received the email also regarding changing from my adsl 1 to the new tcv20-200 plan with no activation cost - and $50 month with 12 month contract.
My question is: will there be any downtime (as in days), or just a few hours when the changeover happens after applying.
Am currently on a 6 month contract - had to be as had to change plans a few months back or face extra $10 month charge. Will there
be any penalty - or it will just revert to a new 12 month contract.
Appreciate your responce.
Cheers
