Routing to 122.252.xx.xx subnets

Post by -kevin » Sun Apr 10, 2011 8:28 am

Hello,
I'm hoping someone can help. I host some servers in Sydney, one is on IP address 122.252.7.123, another 122.252.7.156, a third on 122.252.12.19
I cannot access any of these servers on ports such as 80, 3000, 3389. I (and some other exetel customers I know) cannot see websites hosted on these servers. I can ping and tracert to them though.

The problem also extends to any server on this range

122.252.1.0/24
122.252.7.0/24
122.252.12.0/24
122.252.13.0/24

This page lists sites I can't get to
http://bgp.he.net/net/122.252.1.0/24#_dns
http://bgp.he.net/net/122.252.7.0/24#_dns
http://bgp.he.net/net/122.252.12.0/24#_dns
http://bgp.he.net/net/122.252.13.0/24#_dns

People who are not on an exetel connection can see these fine - eg they work for me on telstra 3G.
I've had the system admins on that 122.252.1.0 network working on it all day yesterday and they can't find an issue at there end.
Perhaps there are some routers that are letting ICMP traffic but not other traffic to/from those subnets?

Can you see if there any any issues from Exetel's end.
Some websites which cannot be seen are on exetel connections are
http://www.eatlocal.com.au
http://www.myflowershop.com.au/
http://www.thewindsorcastle.com/

Kind Regards,
Kevin

I can access those three IP addresses by RDP (3389) and all three websites you listed fine on my Exetel ADSL2 QLD connection.

Thanks - seems like it is OK from QLD but not NSW.
If someone in QLD could post a tracert to one of those sites, that would be great.

After some help from people who could / couldn't get to this 122.252.xxx.xxx subnets
It seems the faulty route goes exetel - optus - nextgen - zonenetworks
and a working route goes exetel - alter (Verizon) - nextgen - zonenetworks

Hopefully anyone from Exetel seeing this might be able to help?

Kevin

Its not an ADSL 1 issue. I connect from exe Optus Adsl 2 -> exe Powertel ADSL 2 with the IPs listed above. Still cannot get in like i can from another ISP and have always been able to before the weekend.

Hi,
The problem seems to be fixed.
I'm now getting a different tracert to the servers I host.

Can get to eatlocal.com.au but then the DNS doesn't resolve for that.
I can get to the other sites, plus access my servers again, on port 80 and RDP.

What are others seeing?

Kevin
