Unplanned outage in WA - Optus ADSL2

Post by Prizm » Sun Feb 19, 2012 9:46 am

There is a post regarding this in the Outages forum, however it said the issue had been resolved. As of 6:40am WST, this doesn't look like it's been resolved. I still do not have internet access. I'm posting this here for anyone else that may be wondering what is going on.

Hi Prizm,

We could see your modem is online. If it's still not working please restart the modem and then check the connection.

If the problem persist, please send an email to 'residentialsupport@exetel.com.au'

this has reoccured yet again....3 times in 2 weeks!!

this last resolution was "there was an issue with the way your modem was connected to Exetel after the service outage"

whatever it was can you please fix again, ive had to reopen this ticket 3 times.

Same again here too. The response to last week's ticket was 'We have done some changes and it appears now you are connected properly and should be working without any issue'.

THanks its back and running OK now.

Can you please provide some information on to why this has happened 3 times in the last 2 weeks? All of the resolutions have been very generic but there must be a more technical answer you can provide?

FYI my open ticket number is 4861020.

Thanks.

I have asked a support engineer to further advise you over this.

Thisvappears to be happening at the same time (00:00 EST) over the last few nights. Why does the net, excluding exetel sites, drop off at this time, every night, for WA??

Edit: @jmcuts - what was the resolution to your previous faults mate?

Yup mine is out too :( Only happened in past 15 m ins or so. Can access exetel but nothing else

Clearly all exetel via optus in WA is out https://www.exetel.com.au/members/a_mrt ... _optus.php

It is just after 9pm here, not at all late and we need it back up
