our issues in Tas may be been fixed.

I'm in Launceston on the St John St exchange and there has been no change to my speeds at all, still struggling on not much better than dial-up speed!!
Since I made this post, I turned off my Router for 20 minutes, now I'm back and it's still the same s-l-o-w speed!
It definitely ain't fixed, in any way at all!

Confirming that I am also still experiencing the issues too.

Definitely NOT fixed... I cant even load speedtest to demonstrate the speeds I'm experiencing.

It's been 3 days now. This is the worst experience I have had in 7 years with Exetel...

Just another bump to say that this issue is still not fixed. I did a speed test, and as you can see, getting 10-20 kbps or so.

This is the single worst experience in my 7 years with Exetel...

Edit, ran another and got 60 kbps.

Your lucky, I can't even load speedtest properly to do a test!

Not fixed here. I'm getting 92kbps on adsl2 in Kingston.
I'm a little annoyed about the comment by Exetel Staff:
We believe the issues experienced since Friday has now been resolved.
For me it has been since last Wednesday, and STILL NOT FIXED! It seems also that they like to place blame elsewhere....

Adding my 2 cents here too.

On Launceston South exchange and have been getting 141 ms pings (to http://www.google.com) and speedtest results of 28 kbps (3 KB/s) when testing around 7:30 PM today.

Previously, prior to 23rd Oct 2012, these values were <50 ms and 16.5 Mbps (2000 KB/s) respectively, and I've been tracking the poor bandwidth/high latency locally ever since.

The only reason I can post here now is that I've tethered the laptop to my mobile phone as it stands in as a wi-fi hotspot. . .

We are investigating all the affected services individually and escalating to our wholesale supplier for further investigation .

Im on Brighton exchange and up until a week ago I used to reliably get 2MB/s on a DDL on my adsl2 connection with even the most intensive websites opening instantly and now like everyone else on here i cant even do a dialup speedtest. Every now and then a page may load normally but then the next one will lock up again. I thought my problem may of stemmed from Exetel changing wholesalers in my exchange but if its happening all over Tassie that must of just been a coincidence. I was really hanging on it being fixed today. My mobile Internet is copping a flogging at the moment and the kids are missing their iView. This is by far the slowest Ive had while with Exetel even while on adsl. Seems like throwing more bandwidth at the problem didnt fix it and I hope the next idea happens quicker than the last, I feel crippled... hahaha

It's not only not fixed, it's actually getting worse, have started downloading a 33mb file using Flashget, it's still got 6 hours and 20mins to go!
on an ADSL2 connection!

Thanks for the reply, however I'm just an average user, I don't understand Techie stuff like that...
Most of us also understand it's not the fault of exetel staff like yourself, but us Tasmanians are going through hell, and we are getting very frustrated.

I personally think it would be best to just go back to the original DSL supplier, after all, we weren't having any problems before the change.

Lowering the MTU helped me a lot, cheers Will!
EDIT:
It's quite a simple process if you know how to access your modem/router settings Tazz, most likely on the DSL or WAN page, then just look for MTU. Make a note of the current setting and then change it to 1400 before hitting apply/save.
