ADSL link up but cannot authenticate

My two ADSL lines have been working fine for ages. Then about 20 mins ago they both dropped out.

I can see one has the ADSL connection up (20415144/812991 showing as speeds) but it cannot start PPP.

Has something gone wrong at Exetel's end?? I'm pretty sure it isn't my line or modem.

I'm on the St Leonards NSW exchange.

ever since this outage i have been getting constant dropouts all day. I have rebooted my modem. What else could i try? Everything was working fine up until last night.

Please be advised that we have done a reset to your connection and also reset the port at the Exchange.

Please power-cycle the modem and monitor the connection for next 24 hours.

If it's still dropping out please send us an email to 'residentialsupport@exetel.com.au'

It has just happened again. Both ADSL links are up but cannot authenticate

Yeah me also, just as I was logging into a work server via VPN.

Would be nice if Exetel could SMS people to let them know when an outage has occured even if its a 'unknown NSW'.

Luckily i have my mobile phone to check what's going on.

I have experienced the problem : ADSL link up but cannot authenticate since 5am today. Huntsville (NSW) exchange
