It's a day later, and our internet is still dropping out (it is now happening every 2-3 minutes for around 30 seconds). Please fix it ASAP as I need internet for work.

Hi,

As my colleague has advised you, were you able to check with an alternate (borrowed) modem?

Regarding Asanka's message, the usual response to internal or decoding errors by modems is to drop the line and reboot - repeatedly. Many will make a log entry that can give a clue, but I've known quite a few cases where constant dropping is caused by a defective power capacitor. Open up the case and look at the flat bottoms of the capacitor cylinders -- if any is blown, or raised, like a bad food can, it's repair or replacement time for that modem.

Basic wired modems are now very cheap, less than $30, so it's a good idea to keep a spare just for job-critical cases.
