internet slowed to a crawl, please help

Having massive issues with connection speed.

For the last few days have been downloading at less than 100kB/s.

Not sure what had happened, but can't be throttled as have only downloaded about 14gig.

Have tried rebooting modem a number of times to no avail.

If you turn the modem power off for 20 minutes, the exchange will reset your service. Worth a try.

Otherwise, post your modem line status here, and a Support person who can look at your line will drop by to assist.

OK, disconnected the ADSL line from my ADSL modem for 20 mins, still the same

Not sure what info Support will need but, speed test from www.exetel.com.au/speed/initialmeter.php

The modem rate is roughly in line with the attenuation. Are you about 3 km from the exchange?

I have trouble with that speed test, eg at the moment my modem is training at 9224 kbps, yet the test gives only 1194 kbps in my browser. A non-browser download from http://www.exetel.com.au/speed/dsl/adsl ... speeds.php gives a true reading of 936.37 KB/s.

Switched the router off for around 40 mins still no good :(

I guess I can't expect anything to get done until Monday now ?

Probably should have done something about it yesterday.

I have made some changes to your connection to improve your speed. Please restart the modem again and check the speed.

Hi I am having the same issue again,

I cancelled my old bank account and forgot to change the direct debit over and my service was temporarily suspended.

Ever since then my download is stuck on 200.

Have I been throttled or something again ?

I'm having issues too.
Speed test isn't even working but slow enough to stop my Foxtel on Demand from working.
Need help please!
