I did have a connection issue earlier this year which was a confirmed Telstra fault in the street due to their 30+ year old copper not handling the constant humidity and heat up hear in North Queensland and the fact that they have not done any maintenance for the past 30 years.... ( I pity you poor people that will be getting fibre to the node, no really i do)

Also I thought the Telstra tech was joking when he said that he would guarantee that the copper to my house would last to the 20th March which is supposedly NBN go live for our area... Which I have been waiting for an eternity (Fibre connection box on the side of the house last August)...

I have created a ticket for this and will send you some tests we need to look into this further, via e-mail.

Please respond to the e-mail with the results so we could try to identify a problem with it.

This is F#$*ing ridiculous my connection has slown down to worse than dial up...

I have run the test that you asked the result from the first show what i have already shown in my above posts, the second test you guys are not getting the information that is included in that test sorry!

My modem is currently connected at 9581Kbps down and 747Kbps up the latest speed test looks something like this...

Image

I was hoping that it would hold out till you guys manage to get my NBN order installed but with still 20 business days to go I would really like something done!

Also dont give me all the BS about there are various factors that contribute to ADSL connection speeds, I work in IT so I know the usual BS that you feed end users.

There is either a problem with Exetel's gear or Telstra's gear since i connect to the Kirwan exchage which is Telstra only.

Thanks,
Rob.

Please forward the results you obtained via email. The 2nd part can be obtained by running the downloaded file when clicking the link. This will open in your downloads folder and when you run it, will create a text file in the same folder, which is what we are looking for.

Kindly restart your modem before doing this test.

Two speed test results this morning...

marginally better than what I have been experiencing over the last few weeks but still a far cry from the 9-10Mbps that I normally get.

Some work is being carried out to improve the network at the moment and you can expect to see an improvement after the next 4 weeks. (tentative)

I may be on NBN before that as I had a phone call today from NBN quoting an April 22nd install still yet to get an email from Exetel to tell me that!

Also is there any scope for discount for this last month at least due to the crappy speed and latency, which should be covered by Telstra wholesale???

Thanks for the email referencing my NBN install. I take it that the billing department don't take speed and latency issues into consideration, I was only after a discount not a refund for the month, bit stingy considering the time I have been with Exetel. Hopefully my NBN connection delivers speeds better than 1/10th of what I used to be getting on ADSL2...
