Hi, I have a Huawei e3131 and need to get an indoor antenna as it is difficult to get a signal where I live.
Does anyone know what would be the best type for this please? I am used to having adsl, and am not familiar with 3G at all.

Thanks.

This site may be of interest - http://rfshop.com.au/Articles/tabid/107 ... -card.aspx.

Similarly this - http://www.radiospecialists.com.au/ante ... 20yagi.htm
or this - http://www.campadelectronics.com.au/antenna3g.php

Fittings range between simple indoor antennae to external gear (similar to TV) aimed at the transmitter. To find the transmitter, see http://web.acma.gov.au/pls/radcom/regis ... dispatcher. I find lat/long searches most useful

But simple stuff first - put the modem on the end of a USB extension cable and stick it in a window. USB 3G wireless routers can be put wherever they receive best. Signal difficulties are common on the North Shore because of the hilly terrain.

Thanks for your help Dazzled, I'll check those out. Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see any where on the e3131 dongle that you could connect an extension lead.

http://telcoantennas.com.au/site/patch- ... -usb-modem. Look for the small hole.

PS In case I misunderstood. A USB cable has a male end, plugged into the computer, and a female socket, into which the modem goes. Any computer shop will have one.
