Event Notification

Locations Affected: Multiple Suburbs, VIC

Products Impacted: Fibre (FTTP, FTTN, FTTH, FTTC), Fixed Wireless and HFC

Event Start Time: 16/09/2020 12:45 PM AEST

Estimated Resolution: no ETR

Root cause: Fibre cut.

Additional Information: Most customers in the above-mentioned area may experience a loss of connectivity.

Update:

Our wholesale supplier confirmed that residential services were not authenticating off the South Morang CSA in Victoria are related to a fibre break between Thomastown and the Campbellfield Exchange. This has now been declared a Major and is impacting Data, Voice and Residential services. Supplier engineers have engaged field teams in order to rectify the issue ASAP.

Our wholesale supplier is unable to provide us with an Estimated Time of Resolution at this stage.

Update:

Our wholesale supplier investigated this issue and identified the location of the fibre break. A field engineer has been arranged to complete installation of a new section of cable and the fibre crew will begin splicing. The ETA for the field team to start the work is by 20:00 AEST due to permissions from the road authority.

Estimated Resolution : 02:00 AEST on 17/09/20

Update:

Our supplier confirmed fibre prep work has been completed. Technicians are on-site and restorative works are in progress. ETR is expected at 2:00 a.m., and services are expected to come online gradually.

Update:

Our supplier has confirmed that all fibres have been spliced and the issue has been resolved.

Kindly reboot your modems / routers and contact Exetel if you have any further issues with the service.
