Planned exemail maintenance on 8/11/2017 2AM - 4AM

Exetel will be carrying out maintenance on some of our systems on Wednesday 8 November between 2am and 4am AEDT.

Your exemail service will be unavailable for a period of up to 2 hours. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Dear Customers,

The maintenance has been completed.

However, after the maintenance, we received tickets indicating Apple devices like the iPhone and iPad were not able to connect to our POP3 servers (pop3.[state].exemail.com.au).

After performing an investigation we find that the Apple mail app is unable to send the correct authentication request to our mail server.

To make it send the correct authentication request please follow the following path in your
settings:

Settings => Accounts & Passwords => Select your exemail account => Advanced => Authentication

Select 'MD5 Challenge-Response' followed by "Back" and then, finally, "Done" to save the change.

Alternatively:

Mail => Preferences => Accounts => Select your exemail account => Advanced => Authentication

Select 'MD5 Challenge-Response' followed by "Back" and then, finally, "Save" to save the change.

You should now be able to re-open the mail app to connect to your mailbox.
