UPDATE

Fibre crew advised splicing on one side of the first 312 Fibre cable has commenced. Technicians have not interrupted the working fibres (79 to 84 and 289-312). The second 312 fibre cable is onsite but hauling will only commence once RTA have approved a road closure of Pacific Hwy expected later this evening. Restoration work ongoing.

UPDATE

60 fibres of the first 312 cable hauled have been completed and checked successfully. The fibre crew are half way through preparing the second 312 cable. This is expected to be completed by early this afternoon and then splicing can commence. There will be 4 crew working on this throughout the day.

Update

Repair of the last (624 x fibre) cable has been split into two x 312 fibre cables.

65 fibres of the first 312 fibre cable have been repaired and post checks completed. A new fibre crew commenced this morning at 07:00 and will continue with splicing of the remaining 247 fibres on this first cable.

Fibre staff are currently preparing this second cable with progressive restoration observed thereafter. Full repair expected close of business Tuesday 12th June 2018.

UPDATE

Overnight, the fibre team completed splicing of the last 312 fibre cable at 21:35 11/06.

Post checks confirm the majority of fibres on the cable are now restored except 10. Works continue this morning to re-splice the remaining 10 fibres. Majority of services should now restored.
