Additional Information: Some customers in the above mentioned area may experience connectivity issues.

Root cause : Still being investigated.

ETR : Our Supplier cannot provide an Estimated Time of Resolution at this time.

UPDATE

Our suppliers Field Operations have tested the fibres from the exchange and have identified a fibre cut in the following POI's Blacktown, Dubbo, St.Leonards. Impacting multiple Fibre & ADSL services.

Their Fibre crews are being mobilised to the suspected fault location to identify the issue.

Root cause : The supplier Field Operations have identified a fibre cut in the Chatswood Exchange towards St Leonards Exchange, impacting multiple Fibre & ADSL services. Due to the complexity of the outage, Multiple fibre teams were sent out to the site by the supplier. These Fibre crews are still on site and working on the fault.

Estimated Time of Resolution : Due to the complexity of the outage the supplier is unable to provide ETR at this stage.

Repair work is still ongoing at the moment. Our wholesale supplier is not able to provide us with an estimated time of resolution yet.

Update:

Fibre techs have been working through the night (repairs still ongoing)

In total, 4 cables have been damaged . 1560 fibres altogether.

The damage has been caused by construction crew working on an apartment complex (large site) within close proximity of the Telstra exchange.

Estimated Time of Resolution : No ETR at this stage.

Update:

Restoration is still under way.

The 1st and 2nd cables and preparing joints at both ends before commencing splicing activities started around 09:00am.

Approximate ETR on splicing for remainder cables unknown at this stage.

A verity of products like ADSL,Cable,MOBILES,Transmission,WTX,WWS,Ethernet Access,CGE have been affected by this outage.

We've been advised that, currently 3 fibre crew’s onsite working to restore services as quickly as possible.

Update:

Damage to 1560 fibres across 4 optic fibre cables.

Technicians have hauled the second and third cable but not commenced setup.

Replacement cable for the fourth cable sourced from Mlebourne and due in Sydney to pickup on 08/06 ~10:00

Update:

Splicing ongoing on first cable.

Some services have been restored.

In parallel our supplier has also hauled and commenced setup and prepping on a second cable.

New updates will be provided when available.

Repairs to the first 312 fibre cable has been completed. Teams have identified a fifth 120 fibre cable has also been damaged.
Preparation work and repairs to the remaining cables are ongoing.

We are unable to provide an Estimated Time of Resolution yet.

Fibre splicing continues on the 3rd (312 fibre) cable with repairs nearing completion.

The 112 fibre cable is still carrying traffic (partial damage) and will be repaired under a maintenance window tonight.
