Where is eXeSMS?

Postby Tafkam on Tue Jul 19, 2011 3:21 pm

Hi, I'm busily setting up a new computer and need eXeSMS reinstalled. Can anyone steer me in the direction of a reliable download? I clicked that Montaro thing that people seem to talk about, and it goes nowhere, just some clickable links for other software I'm not interested in. The "download eXeSMS link" just opens an almost identical page. Very annoying. Has anyone got a link that works?

http://exetel.com.au/files/eXeSMS_VERSI ... INDOWS.zip

http://exetel.com.au/files/eXeSMS_VERSI ... HER_OS.zip

(the links are from the member facilities SMS page https://www.exetel.com.au/members/send_ ... exeSMS.php )

I just downloaded the Windows version to confirm, didn't try the other one but should be ok

Is there likely to be an updated version soon? This one has some annoyances.
In the message history, the window is too narrow to view all but a few letters of messages and it's not able to be enlarged.
To delete the message history you have to go to settings for some peculiar reason. Why the "delete message history" option isn't in the message history tab beats me.
You can't sort the address book, or move entries. You can only delete them and put them in again, and then they just default to the bottom of the list.
Petty complaints, I know, lol. But just wondered if there's an update imminent :)

I have checked with our development team and there will be an updated version very soon. Hopefully, this will be released before the end of this month :D .

You don't have to use Java bloatware. I once set up a short bash script with an address book for a user. Some time ago chronographer posted here a simple Python script without bells and whistles like address books or message storage - viewtopic.php?f=303&t=29585. It suited the system in 2008 but I don't know if it has since been improved or extended by anyone. Python runs on most systems.

[Edit] Google found another : https://github.com/daniellawrence/pyexe ... etelsms.py

Well, it says it is version 2.3 - 2009. I believe that's about right.

Unfortunately that is the only update we have so far from the Developing team.

My original exeSMS 1.5 has finally died overnight. Does version 2.3 exist and still work ? If so does anyone have a download link ? Google only found version 2.2.
