Perhaps a firewall is blocking the Java Engine from accessing the internet?

Allowed port 7755 through windows firewall (which I think it works on after looking at derby.log)
and same on modem...

Still fails 'Invalid username or password' is the actual error.

Software Update Notes:

In the software we identified a few problems:

-There is exception thrown when two instances are running. Therefore, we restricted this, so that only one instance can be run at one time.

-We finalized the function of minimizing the system into the system tray.

-We finished the Image SMS.

-We are working on Installers. This will create an EXE file for Windows platform.

New Demo can be downloaded here http://www.exetel.com.au/files/eXeSMS.zip

I've just tried this on MacOSX 10.5.7 and she no go. After extracting from the .zip file, double clicking the eXeSMS.jar file produces an error :- "Error in opening connection No suitable driver" followed by another one "java.lang.NullPointerException" and then it simply shuts down. The name of the application that is running at this time is db_utility_pck.StartSolution

Bye Jeff.

Working ok.

Noted that did not receive the acknowledgment as per previous version the SMS sent OK

I have never received this message on the Java version of the SMS client. As long as the SMS appears in the History pane, it is sent.

I'm trying to run it on a Mac.

I navigate to the download folder and type java -jar "eXeSMS.jar" as instructed.

I then get two error windows. The first is:
Error opening connection - no suitable driver
if I OK this I then get:
java.lang.nullpointerexception

Any tips anyone?

Well Worldbased and Gavin, the software requires Java Runtime Environment 1.6 to execute.
What is the Java Runtime you are using?

Aha! Seems Apple is once again behind Windows and defaults to Java 1.5.

You can force it to use 1.6 if you have a 64 bit machine as described here.

I've done that and I can now run up the app and log in.

Thanks.

Hi Guys

Yes that worked for me. I downloaded the new Java update (15th June) for my MAC laptop. Went into the Java Preferences and change 1.6 as main.

The system works fine now and have no worries running it.

A question at this point is that you have to keep all the files together in a folder. I keep it on my desktop.

I am new to JAVA programs and am wondering the best way to have this setup on my MAC for ease of use. For instance i would like it set in my program bar down the bottom like all the other programs. Can this happen?

Thanks for all your help so far.
