Using ExeSMS to send sms to USA

Post by Robitup » Fri Jun 18, 2010 3:08 pm

I am receiving a delivery failure on sms thay I am sending to the USA via exeSMS. The recipient mobile number format I am using is 0011 + 1 + Area Code+ Tel #. Is this correct? I am trying to send to a mobile in California with the area code (310) - should all three numbers be used in the address e.g. 00111310Tel#?
cheers,

Hi Rob,

You can remove the 0011 as we only use country code.

So as an example, sending to an Australian mobile such as 0400000000. If I wanted to enter it as an International mobile number I would enter 61400000000

Hope that clarifies the format.

Cheers.

(I hope it's okay to bump a dead thread like this)
I've got a friend in the US that I'm trying to SMS using the web and SMSes that I send this way always seem to fail. I can send them to local numbers fine, just not overseas numbers. He receives my messages if I send them normally, but they cost three times as much that way and I'd like to keep it cheap if possible. What could be causing them to fail?

Why would I now be receiving the message 'invalid destination' when I try sending an sms to a US mobile # that was previously working? I am using the exact same number (stored in my ExeSMS Address Book) that I was 1 month ago without any problem.
cheers,
