VCard

Postby criten on Sat Mar 19, 2011 12:31 pm

Has anyone sent VCard's over the Exetel SMS system? I'm attempting to do this to essentially replace paper based business cards... seems better I get the persons phone number so I can follow up their enquiry, and more convenient for them to have my complete contact details stored in their mobile phone.

I tried sending a VCard to my own phone in the format seen on http://www.ozekisms.com/index.php?owpn=253 with ExeSMS 2.1 - but it didn't work, just came out as plain text.

This feature is not available with our SMS service at present.

Oh its available, I've already sent a couple VCards... its just figuring out the correct formatting... I'll post later with an example msg on the fields I'm figuring out how to use

But there are some docs on it in RFC 2425 & 2426

Things would be so much easier if I could send a couple messages from my phone to a virtual sms mobile service...
