I downloaded usage metre but no luck with my username and/or password. Either one is invalid. What do I need to do to get this meter running?

Gday Toid

Just wondering whether:

1. you'll support the new PAYU plans (ie by adjusting the "excess data" costs and allowing zero included data)
2. you can/will port the NetUsageItem (which is SO much better to use) across to IE7/IE8? Now that IE7/IE8 supports addons, I was hoping it would be an easy port for you to convert the existing firefox addon across, thus doing-away with the mini-meter (and having to support 2 programs). Unfortunately many older people who first used IE have not yet graduated to Firefox (despite my trying!).

Just a couple of hopeful thoughts.

Cheers

Does the Mini Exetel Usage Meter support prepaid HSPA? I've noticed that it supports regular (postpaid) HSPA but haven't been able to get it to work with my prepaid account.

(I've finally made the switch from Exetel/Unwired to Exetel/HSPA.)

Thanks

Tim

I'm all for that! :D

I suppose all that is needed is a nicely formatted web page for mobile devices, but I wouldn't really know where to start.

TheToid wrote:Hello everyone,

I have recently made a new usage meter for Exetel, this usage meter is aimed at the soho internet users who just want a simple little program to sit on their desktop and show them their usage for the current month.

You can get the program here:

There is a whirlpool thread on this program here:

Hi,

Has Exetel got around to updating the XML file used by TheToid's usage meters for the new billing periods and the new plans which dont have Peak/Offpeak as it's been a number of months since Exetel put these chnages in place.

Shoner, I just read the meters for 2 customers I asssist. The first has an OCV plan, the second has OT30. (I have omitted their IPs)
OCV:

Code: Select all

    <PlanDetails>
      <PlanName>OCV10</PlanName>
      <LineSpeed>10000</LineSpeed>
      <PeakTimeDownloadInMB>10000</PeakTimeDownloadInMB>
      <OffpeakTimeDownloadInMB>0</OffpeakTimeDownloadInMB>
      <PeakShaping>NO</PeakShaping>
      <OffpeakShaping>NO</OffpeakShaping>
      <PlanPrice>$50.00</PlanPrice>
      <ExtraDownloadPerGB>$1.00</ExtraDownloadPerGB>
    </PlanDetails>

    <CurrentMonthUsage>
      <PeakDownload>226.55</PeakDownload>
      <PeakUpload>31.2</PeakUpload>
      <OffpeakDownload>4.45</OffpeakDownload>
      <OffpeakUpload>0.98</OffpeakUpload>
      <UpdateDatetime>2011-05-25 09:25:05 AEDST</UpdateDatetime>
    </CurrentMonthUsage>
OT:

Code: Select all

    <PlanDetails>
      <PlanName>OT30</PlanName>
      <LineSpeed>30000</LineSpeed>
      <PeakTimeDownloadInMB>30000</PeakTimeDownloadInMB>
      <OffpeakTimeDownloadInMB>180000</OffpeakTimeDownloadInMB>
      <PeakShaping>NO</PeakShaping>
      <OffpeakShaping>NO</OffpeakShaping>
      <PlanPrice>$55.00</PlanPrice>
      <ExtraDownloadPerGB>$1.00</ExtraDownloadPerGB>
    </PlanDetails>

    <CurrentMonthUsage>
      <PeakDownload>8906.2</PeakDownload>
      <PeakUpload>635.78</PeakUpload>
      <OffpeakDownload>10026.61</OffpeakDownload>
      <OffpeakUpload>781.82</OffpeakUpload>
      <UpdateDatetime>2011-05-25 09:23:57 AEDST</UpdateDatetime>
    </CurrentMonthUsage>
The value of //"OffpeakTimeDownloadInMB" gives a flag for adding peak and off peak usage for display, thank you. There is no element to indicate the billing date, which is useful to compute simply a fraction-of-month for display. Both the above plans start on the 1st of the month, so I cannot confirm correct monthly usage totals for non-1st customers, perhaps another reader can.

For some existing meters, life would be simpler (ie, no recoding needed) if for OCV type plans, you did the peak+offpeak addition and placed the total in peak usage.
